Rules and Regulations
1) All anglers will possess a valid license to fish on the Ottawa River.

2) Operators of a team’s boat must be licensed to do so (where applicable).

3) All event participants will respect the rules and regulations set out by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and where applicable the Province of Quebec, for angling on the Ottawa River.

4) Eligible fishing areas consist of any area reachable by boat from the tournament starting point. **Reminder - A Quebec Fishing licence may be required in certain tributaries on the Quebec side of the River. Please ensure you are licensed to fish in the area you have chosen.

a) All contestants must remain in their boats at all times during tournament hours except when instructed at tournament headquarters. Participants may only exit their vessel to
use washroom facilities. One team member must stay in the boat at all times.

5) The tournament time limits will be from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

a) Departures after the starting time will be controlled by the Judges.

i) Departures will be staggered at intervals based on assigned team numbers.

ii) Starting positions will be determined by the order of registration.

b) The official time will be that displayed on the Starting Judge’s timepiece only.

c) Boats must return to the starting area by 4:00 PM. All boats returned after 4:00 PM will be subject to a 1 pound weight deduction for each minute it is late.

6) All boats must leave and return from Tournament Headquarters only.

7) Every registered boat will be identified by a number that will be provided upon inspection. This number must be held by the team and presented upon request.

8) Team scores will be based on the composite weight of four (4) fish.

a) Walleye and sauger (or saugeye) will be the only species accepted for weigh-in.

b) Each team is allowed only one weigh-in for the tournament.

c) In the case of a tie in overall standings, tied positions shall be combined and split evenly with the lesser value prize places being eliminated.

d) This is a LIVE RELEASE tournament. Fish may not be kept and will be released after weigh-in. In the Open tournament, there will be a ¼ pound (4 ounce) deduction for each dead fish.

e) All entries in the Big Fish tournament must be live. No dead fish will be accepted for entry in this side tournament.

9) There will be a maximum of two (2) anglers per boat.

10) All boats will be subject to inspection by the tournament organizing committee before launch.

11) Live bait will be permitted as per the rules set by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources.
